Seychelles National Park Snorkeling

They warned us that the water might be a little cloudy for snorkeling. But we were willing to go anyway. As it was a kind of a blustery rainy day we thought we  might as well be underwater. As far as I was concerned the snorkeling was fabulous. We saw variety of fish: a big flute fish, an eagle ray, some very vibrant striped fish, batfish and the greatest part of it all was a large school of Pompano. There was a big sailboat in the area that we were going to snorkel in but other than that we had it all to ourselves. We had a great swim then we got back in and headed north.

Our boat from the water

As the sun would come out or hide, the water color changes dramatically

These two pictures were taken from the same place just seconds apart

This was taken from the boat

The water is so clear

Bat fish 18 inches in diameter

The pompanos blended perfectly with the surroundings

I the sun came out and the yellow popped

This school was very calm. We swam right on top of them and they did not spook

Neon colors

This guy had a long trunk like nose

It flapped its fins like  bird

A parrot fish

The Pompano school

The school stretched out on either side

This flute fish has either a remora type fish on it or a wound

Another school of fish

The orange and black stripes

The blonde pink mask fish

A fast swimming  eagle ray

All fish!

Vibrant stripes

This is what makes the boat go round..
