Feeling like Royalty at the Thornbury Castle

Our room was mighty grand.  We had to climb up the spiral stairs of the turret to get to our room. The first thing that we see upon arrival was a long gold braided cord that hung from the ceiling. This is the main light switch.  Each room had the same gold cord as a switch. It was always a blast using it. There were tapestries,  gleaming plates, drawings of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn who stayed at this castle once way back when. We had a kitchen, a seating area with a Murphy bed, a spacious bath and a four poster bed with a canopy. The cabinetry was ornate, the carvings on the bed were very detailed. The name of our suite was the portlethen and the following are all from the suite.
