The Kecak dance is a performance of a ubset of the traditional Ramayaba saga. There are four parts to the story but the dance is continuous so we could loosely follow the story. It is performed by a troupe of 70 Male singers and a handful of other characters from the saga. In a nutshell this is a story of a man his wife and his brother you are exiled. An evil spirit kidnaps the wife after disguising himself as a thirsty old man. The brother and the main and get help from the white monkey to try to get his wife back. The man and his wife reunited after the monkey battles Evil spirits. The whole thing takes place in open air Stadium with concrete benches for seating. Packed in very tightly and combined with direct sun and the hard seating it was a very difficult 15 minutes waiting for the show to start. But once it started we were enthralled !
